Mukuru kwa Njenga

A hall dressed for the day

Blue and yellow cloth ran the length of a community hall, and the Global Health Access Initiative banner hung on the stone wall. Plastic chairs filled the floor. Families were already seated when the work started.

Children in the middle of it

The day was not a quiet clinic. Babies were tied on backs. Toddlers crossed the open floor. At the tables, people wrote, checked a laptop, and kept the line moving while the room stayed full.

The talk, then the team

A woman in a green vest stood among the chairs and spoke with her hands. Mothers listened with children on their laps. Later the GHAI team pulled in close around an open box, the banner still behind them.

Outside, on the wooden walkway, they stood under a banner that names the place plainly: Mukuru Kwa Njenga Health Centre.
